There are so many questions that come up about booking a houseboat vacation that we thought it would be a good idea to write an FAQ post. If you don’t see an answer to your questions, please feel free to send us a note.
#1 Do you have to pay off your houseboat in full upon booking?
No, a $1000.00 booking fee is required for the Orion and Genesis within seven days of making your reservation. A $700.00 booking fee is required within the same period for all other houseboats. Payment of the balance of your rental fee is due 75 days before arrival. It may be paid with a personal or cashier’s check. Your reservation can be canceled without notice if payment is not received in full by this time.

We offer a linen service upon request at the cost of $195.00. (This request needs to be made more than 3 weeks prior to arrival) This service would include bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, sheets, and blankets for the number of people on your boat, we recommend you bring additional beach towels.
#4 Are you required to have a California boaters card to rent a houseboat?
No, according to California law a person operating a rental vessel isn’t a requirement. We do require both captain and co-captain to participate in an orientation, regardless of houseboating experience. The information that is proven is valuable, especially to those of you who are new to houseboating on Shasta Lake.
#5 How do we transport our belongings to the houseboat upon check-in?
Here at Antlers we offer a shuttle service to assist guests with getting their personal belongings loaded onto their reserved houseboat. For your convenience, we will have a patio boat shuttle available for your use. Guests may then load their belongings directly from their vehicles onto the shuttle. Once guests have successfully loaded all their belongings, our Tractor driver will connect to the shuttle trailer and launch it into the water. The shuttle will then be parked as close as possible to the reserved houseboat. The entire party will then walk down to the marina to unload their belongings from the shuttle onto the houseboat. Guests can NOT ride on the shuttle with their belongings. Only one shuttle service per houseboat.
